New School Year Begins Online

KUWAIT: Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi announced yesterday that the new scholastic year (2020-2021) kicks off today on schedule. Teaching will be online for all levels; pre-school, elementary, intermediate and high school, the minister said in a statement, indicating that
the department had worked out an integrated scheme for online teaching. Shifting from conventional to electronic teaching was not easy because it required major preparations, an infrastructure and an integrated scientific substance, he said, affirming that the involved national cadres were quite capable of coping with the novel coronavirus crisis. Kuwait had already established digital teaching after outbreak of the coronavirus months ago. — KUNA

20 article aqama renewal online service started on monday. Reports Al-Rai daily At the first day of launching 20 article renewal services over 599 residency renewal transaction were processed. 

This is in line with the decision to renew the residency permits of workers online starting from the beginning of the year.

In a statement to the daily, Director of the Public Relations and Security Media General Department at the ministry Brigadier Tawheed Al-Kandari confirmed the beginning of the implementation of an advanced security by switching to electronic services.

He disclosed the residency affairs sector has provided a special counter for the elderly and people with special needs to complete their transaction quickly and easily.

He advised the sponsors of domestic workers to refrain from visiting the residency affairs departments they can renew the residency permits of these workers online within a few minutes. HE affirmed that many citizens have so far availed the electronic services provided by the ministry.
